About The 1892 Club

the 1892 Club, inc. came into being when 37 Hartford County CITIZENS, including bankers, business executives and clergymen, gathered on April 13, 1892.

The mission was "to meet and discuss the important questions of the present time." For 125 years, club members have gathered for dinner and discussion on topics of literary, cultural, social, and economic interests. The men and women of The 1892 Club today represent an array of interests, careers and communities, and come together to enjoy an evening of lively conversation and a stimulating presentation by a well-known leader or scholar in the field. While our tradition is rich in history, our gatherings remain rooted in present-day discussions.
